T-NAGAR is one of the most famous for street shopping in Chennai. Here, you can get everything at a minimal cost. Home Decor, Women’s Cloth, Gents cloth, Kids cloth, Electronic items, Women’s Accessories, Watches, Coolers. You can get everything here. T-NAGAR is an all-rounder.
Pondy Bazaar is widely known for Women Accessories. You can get Earrings at the cost of RS.10 to Rs.20. I would highly recommend trying Pondy Bazaar. You can see lots of Cloth shops at a reasonable price.
Pantheon road is famous for Cotton. You can see lots of cotton materials and cotton sarees here. Definitely it is cheap. I mostly prefer pantheon road because of the western outfits. and the prices are really cheap. It is nearby Egmore Museum. Ladies gotta love this place.
Here, you can see the price ranges from min to maximum. You can see many Branded shops here. the price range fluctuates depends on the shop. it is same as T-NAGAR but the prices a little bit high.
You can see a wide range of collections. Best to shop on AADI sale. Try to avoid shopping at Festival times as it is very crowd and you won’t see many collections. Shop one month before the festival. Purasawalkam is one of the affordable cheap street shopping in Chennai.
Spencer Plaza is located at Mount Road. It is a very old shopping mall. You can get western outfits at an affordable price. Most of my dresses bought here. Best for western outfits and Indo-western, Perfumes, Kashmiri salwar and jewels.
You can get everything cheap here and the quality is good too. My most favourites are Sarees and Churidar Materials. Give a try and you will never regret it. Mostly it is crowded due to its price. Better to shop on weekdays.
Sowcarpet is solely for sarees. Many varieties of sarees you can see here at a minimal cost. Mostly the sarees are from north part of India. You can get western outfits and Jewellery at a reasonable price. My favourites from here are Jewellery. The streets are really busy even in normal times. Best time to shop is morning 11 am to evening 4 pm.
